Jason Bryant, Executive Vice President

Jason Bryant joined Imagine Schools in August 2005 after leaving The AES Corporation, where he worked for 14 years. Jason held various positions within AES that led him to live in Virginia, California, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Spain. Jason came back to the United States to spend more time with his family and to start a new career. He was drawn to working for Dennis Bakke once he learned what Imagine Schools was trying to accomplish. Jason graduated from Huntington University and earned an MBA from George Washington University. Jason began work with Imagine trying to develop schools in the Indiana market. His servitude now extends throughout 21 campuses in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Jason is determined to change public education, dedicating his efforts to improving charter law and encouraging others through mentorship in Imagine philosophy, resulting in expanded educational opportunities and choice for parents and children.

Amy Buttke joined Imagine Schools in February 2006 when the campus she was leading
became an Imagine School. Amy graduated from Otterbein College and has worked
in Charter Schools since 1999. She has served as a kindergarten teacher,
curriculum coach, principal, and now regional director. She is proud to be
part of a family that gives parents a choice with their child’s
education.

Mona Milner has been working with Imagine Schools since 2006. She has had the opportunity to serve in location at 2 Imagine campuses, Imagine Great Western Academy and now proudly located at Imagine Academy of Columbus. In the summer of 2007, Mona was honored to receive the Joy At Work award at Imagine Schools National Forum in Arizona. She considers this to be one of the most gratifying accomplishments she has made. Mona has a passion for children of all ages and loves to work with families. Her goal is to touch as many of our students and families lives in a positive way as she can. “Making a positive Difference is important to me”, says Mona. Mona is married and has 4 children which whom she devotes her time and energy to outside of school. She enjoys shopping, going to indoor water parks and spending time with her family and friends in her spare time

Amanda Sappenfield, Fourth and Fifth Grade Teacher

Amanda Sappenfield joined Imagine Schools in 2008 after teaching seventh grade in North Carolina. She has taught a fourth and fifth grade split, middle school language arts integration and then middle school reading at our campus. This year she is excited to be the reading curriculum coach! Mrs. Sappenfield graduated from the University of Akron with her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Level Education and is enrolled at The Ohio State University to further her education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family including her brand new daughter and her husband.

Lyra Gray, Intervention Specialist

Lyra Gray received a Bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a Masters of Education from Antioch Midwest University. She is a second year teacher and holds a K-12 Mild to Moderate Intervention Specialist license. She is currently the Intervention Specialist for grades 5-8 at Academy of Columbus. Interests and hobbies include playing softball, hiking, running and traveling.

Carly Weber, Kindergarten

Carly Weber graduated from Ohio University in 2005 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. This will be Mrs. Weber's seventh year teaching and second year at IAOC. She is excited to start teaching our shared values to the youngest students in our school. Mrs. Weber enjoys spending time with her family as well as her two dogs Reese and Cloie.
Katie Hendrix, First Grade

Katie Hendrix received her Bachelors Degree in Human Ecology and her Master Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio State University. She joined the Imagine family in 2009 as a First Grade Teacher. Katie's favorite part about being a teacher is seeing the amazing growth and achievements of the students throughout the course of the school year. In her free time Katie enjoys being outdoors hiking, biking, and traveling. She is looking forward to the new school year and meeting her students and their families!
Kelley McLafferty, Second Grade

Kelley McLafferty is one of the 2nd grade teachers here at Imagine AOC. This upcoming year will be her 4th year at AOC and she knows it's going to be the best one yet! She has also taught 3rd grade at AOC as well. Kelley went to BGSU and has a degree in Sport Management. She then went on to get her teaching license through Ashland University a few years later. She is originally from Michigan and has lived in Charleston, SC. She is currently living in Blacklick with her husband of 5 years and her 2 ½ year old son, Cameron. When she is not at school, you can find her outside reading, playing with her son, traveling, and spending time with her family and close friends. Kelley is looking forward to having a successful year at AOC, teaching our Shared Values, and instilling integrity and respect every student in her class. She knows that with the help of positive influence and role models we can all make this campus successful!
Elizabeth Schneider, Fifth Grade

Elizabeth Schneider joined Imagine Academy of Columbus in 2010 after receiving her Masters Degree in Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. She previously taught and coached in Marion, Ohio where she grew up. During the 2010-2011 school year Miss. Schneider was a 4th grade teacher. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, play softball, and vacation to the beach. She is part of the Character Education Committee and the Discipline Committee. Her goal at Imagine Academy of Columbus is to help students achieve educational success and promote educational choice for students and parents.
Middle School
Erika Feigles, Seventh Grade, Math/Science

Erika Feigles joined Imagine Academy of Columbus in 2010 after teaching Special Education in Columbus. She has taught all core subjects from 5th grade forward, but has always had an emphasis on, and love for, mathematics. This year she is excited to return to her Middle School students! Ms. Feigles graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BA, and later from the University of Pennsylvania with a MS in Education. When she is not busy at school, Ms. Feigles can be found running marathons, traveling to new places, on the beach, and enjoying time with her family
